Return from NowHere is a Travel!
. “I am sure you are not sure. If you knew, you would have refused to come here because of the burden of knowing beforehand, about your travel!” I did not understand his words in all its essence, even after returning back to India; and even to this day. The only thing I realized was that his artificial leg was very enthusiastic to move, it always appeared in the shape of an exclamatory mark! As if an afterthought, I realized that all his sentences ended with an ‘!’ i.e. exclamatory marks!!!
Book Review: Colourful Autobiography of a Multiple Personality
..Perhaps this is the first lengthy autobiography written by an Indian sculptures in any Indian language.. One can read this book about a visual artist without the help of the pictures, but that would be making us blind.. Kanakamurthy (b.1944) writing is in par and often better than those art journalistic writing in Kannada. . Particularly her narratives in the first half of the book and about the first half of her life gives a hint at an epic novel that could be in the making, about a dark women sculptor from South East Asia..
ART REVIEW: Backstage as Foreground
Dwaraki is a rare painter. As a formal-artist he paints rarely; and rarely keeps away from round-the-clock routine of painting the theatre, any given day. The actors as well as the theatricality of the stage are what seems to be his concern at first. On a second thought, this disjuncture, this fragmentation, the separation between visual and theatre are the ‘collaged premise’ from within which Dwaraki seems to pick bits and pieces of his own autobiography of last two decades
Leather Puppetry Festival: Representing One’s Own Self
The workshop, showcasing and subject are three aspects that would be tested in the given situation, since there are loads of contemporary kitschy and pastiche adaptation of puppetry-for-sale in the same Parishath premise, throughout out the year, since KCP is also a venue renting out its spaces to melas of folk, craft and traditional art.
The Art of Chandranath Acharya: Left to a Right Choice
The thrill of skill is what has been ‘kill’ed by the deep misunderstanding that ‘rendering’ and ‘skill’ are one and the same. No amount of argumentative skill can convinced the already convicted, otherwise. The problem of Chandranath Acharya, the artist, is precisely this; and the possibility of Chandranath Acharya, the illustrator, is also this! The magic of his image-making lies somewhere in between.

(Published in www.travelanddeal.com, June 7th, 2013) Nobody should stay at Switzerland or Helvetia-land because the place where one resides can never be a worthy tourist spot, for the dweller. The second reason is that, it no doubt looks spectacular to view this...

ಮೂಲ ಕೃತಿ: ಜಾನ್ ಬರ್ಜರ್| Ways of Seeing
Kannada Translation of John Berger’s ‘Ways of Seeing’. John Berger’s 1972 television series and the book based on the series revolutionized how we view images, accusing high art of complicity in social, economic and gender inequality. It also challenged what Berger saw as the undemocratic culture of museums and galleries.

SCIENCE IS THE ART OF LEGITIMISING LOGIC AND REASONING ABILITY OF EXPRESSION WHILE ART IS SCIENCE OF CONTESTING THOSE TWO!
A LONG CHERISHED DREAM INDICATES THAT YOU HAVE BEEN INEFFICIENT, LAZY, LETHARGIC ALL ALONG; & MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE, UNABLE TO ACHIEVE IT, YET, BECAUSE OF YOUR SLUMBER!
